”Did you hear about the rose that grew from a crack in the concrete? Proving nature’s laws wrong, it learned to walk without having feet. Funny, it seems to be keeping its dreams; it learned to breathe fresh air. Long live the rose that grew from concrete when no one else even cared.”
– Tupac Shakur
Aura by indigomerkaba is about giving insight to his new experiences of being a father and a husband as well as leaving meaningful life lessons for his daughter to learn from as she grows to be older.
The opening song “Sometimes” is a track explaining how he sometimes feels, the moments of feeling suicidal, feeling hopeless, battling his own mind with depression and self doubt but finds clarity by looking in his daughter’s eyes.
“Money Make The World Go Round” is about exactly what the title says, a song about how money rules the world and how he will not stop until he is able to build family wealth for his entire family tree.
This is indigomerkabas first full length project for the year after releasing single after single relentlessly in 2020. There are a few reasons for the name of the project being called Aura. The first being indigomerkaba’s daughter’s name is Indigo-Aura. Secondly the entire project is produced by a talented producer from Sydney who goes by Aura.
Aura is also what indigomerkaba explains as the prelude to another full length project expected to release at a later date called “Phoenix”, which will be the embodiment of becoming better mentally, musically and being the best version of himself.
He says, “Aura is me explaining how my daughter saved my life, showing my softer side, being vulnerable. Phoenix is me saying to everyone yo, I’m here now and I’m not going anywhere, I’m here to stay. I’m at my strongest, thank you, showing my strength and artistry at its peak”.
