Professional BMX rider, extreme athlete, and cultural icon Nigel Sylvester is entering the esports world by joining the groundbreaking gaming organization XSET.

“I’ve been able to use my platform to highlight so many different things, from cycling to BMX, to music, to art, fashion, travel, technology,”  says Nigel. “I think XSET is the same. They’re highlighting all these different things with a strong emphasis on gaming. We have aligned visions on the things we want to execute in the gaming space as far as pushing it forward and being progressive in our thinking. Bringing communities together is something that’s important to both of us and together we’re stronger and can do that in the right way, which I think can be impactful and meaningful.”

Through his multiple, high-profile social media platforms, Nigel creates compelling digital content that tells a story worth sharing. Since 2015, he’s been the force behind the POV series “GO” where viewers get a front row seat to his astounding BMX tricks and skills. Nigel takes his audience around the world, bringing talented friends like Rob Dyrdek, ASAP Ferg, DJ Khaled, and more along for the ride. In addition to collaborating with brands like Nike and G-Shock, he is also a leader for Bike Rides for Black Lives, which aims to encourage bike riding as a form of physical and mental therapy and seeks to increase diversity within the BMX world and beyond.

“He’s a cultural mover and shaker. He’s almost an influencer’s influencer,” says XSET co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Greg Selkoe. “He’s really taken BMX to a whole different level via fashion and integration with other cultural movements, which is really what we’re about.”
